After Christmas clean up

The first week of 2012 was unfortunate because of a cold. I have now recovered and am happy to say that the clean up of 2011 Christmas is all but complete.  I think there might be a bit under the table that holds the sewing machine but I can have the complete in a jiffy. I had to purchase a last christmas container today at wally world and it is in the hall way until full.
Honey is happy to be home from North Carolina after spending all of last week in meetings. The heat was stuck at his hotel and the sales force was too over heated most of the week.  Sigh.
I did not miss him being gone because I was in bed about all week.
Now, Can we get on with the new year yet????
I want to do some sewing tomorrow and am looking forward to that!

II Corinthians

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

new ideas in blogland

The BlueRidgeBranch is moving toward a bit of sales.

  1. Kendal has recovered from a year of chemotherapy and is beginning to work half time at her old job.
  2. Her, half pint is starting to school most days and is falling in kiddy love with his new teacher Mrs. Reed (who will teach him to read).

  1. Maggie is wanting to put some wonderful doll clothes up for sale for some lucky little girls to get for Christmas.
  2. Her hubby will be working less for health reasons.
  3. Her sons are getting all grown up and don't need her nearly as much hovering too close.

  1. Gale is gathering up some vintage items and sewing bits for sharing in the outside world too.
  2. After praying and much thought, we would like to pool our resources toward a joint business program.

Please be patient with us as we get our feet wet slowly in the new stream of sales across the blogland. Exciting!

Camp for teens

Our teenagers are off to camp this morning. They are very excited and will work all week in South Carolina. This is about six hours from us and they will drive south this early morning. They love doing this with their church group and they learn a lot of skills while volunteering. Our Pastor D will lead the group and his bride will be here with their 4yr old.  I will help them this week as a mission project of my own.
The heat has been so oppressive but others have it too and we do have good air conditioning. I am thankful for that. I am thankful for much this morning. One year ago this week we found out that Kendal had cancer and that the following year would be difficult.
It has been. She has lost weight and we try to keep it going in the plus direction so that she can recover and continue treatment. I help with what she needs at the moment. She gets tired and needs help with the little guy and "Gram" is close enough to be here for her. I am very thankful for being within easy reach for her.
We have a new hard wood floor in most of our upstairs. We are just dazzled by the shine and beauty. I have never had new hard wood floors and look forward to much enjoyment from walking barefoot on the oak prefinished areas. Wow am I blessed or what? Thank you Father in heaven for your blessings on my little feet. This is something I have longed for and we have saved our money for. The white carpet we once had in the house is gone except for 2 upstairs bedrooms. (These too rooms are not as high traffic) I have my sewing room in one and the guest bedroom upstairs is the other. I think I can save for one at a time to be replaced but the priority next will be prayed about and we will go slow in deciding what happens next.

Updated Saturday

I will use a larger print because I have problems with the pollen in my eyes. I went to North Carolina with Honey for a business appointment and the bloomingness of the countryside was riotous. I think the car does not filter any of the green pollen from the air and I was having a hard time focusing on the last bit of travel.
The pinks and purples and reds and whites across the fields are beautiful and typical of this location in the springtime. It is getting nigh on to Easter and the time is ticking for the planting and spring preparations. Luckily, it is raining today and the washing of the air is greatly appreciated. I will have to plan a bit of egg decorating with my little buddy this week.
Honey has made some potato soup for today.
I will work in the sewing room. I am trying to get ready for new flooring up stairs. I keep packing items away that I will not need until the floor upstairs is down. White carpet AWAY!
